Need for spring: paper wreath

My daughter’s first birthday is in March – which is when spring is supposed to arrive (well, maybe not in MN unfortunately). Her Vietnamese name also means “spring” so I’m planning a spring theme – florals, pastels, butterflies, etc. My sister came across a paper wreath tutorial that she found on a blog by the red thread. Her wreath turned out really well and I thought it would be a great decorative piece for my baby girl’s birthday.

Well, I got one thing off her birthday planning checklist. I finished the wreath just today! I used design paper which is a little thicker than the wrapping paper per the tutorial. I also found it hard to get the stapler in the the precise location that I wanted the leaves so I opted for hot glue instead. It was a little challenging positioning the leaves at the beginning but as I continued, it got much easier. I’m very happy with the results:
