Finally! A little girls room to decorate.
My daughter finally has her own room and after almost three years I have a “nursery” to decorate! It’s so much fun to finally put together all the ideas I’ve been saving up. It’s still a work in progress but I think it’s going to take me awhile to finish so I’m going to share as I get bits and pieces done.
That said, here’s my first bit!

For our wedding I bought a handful of Chinese lanterns to hang. They’ve been in storage since and the sentimental part of me hasn’t wanted to get rid of them but I had no idea what to do with so many. So they sat in storage until I saw this flower on Craftgawker. Inchmark didn’t have a detailed tutorial so I winged it and think it turned out pretty nice.

I started at the bottom by rolling up one of the half-circles into a rose shape and glued it on. Then I glued on half-circles around it. I’m not thrilled about how mine is a little more pointy then theirs at the bottom but by the time I realized it was pointy it was too late to turn back. (Call me lazy! Hehe) Also if I had referred to the image more I would have placed the petals randomly to give it an organic feel.
For the pompoms I used this tutorial from Martha Stewart.
Stay tuned for the next installment! It involves tulle, ribbons and poufs….
