At two months old my boy finally has a “handmade by mommy” item! Unlike my first pregnancy I was so unmotivated to craft this time. I was beginning to feel bad but just recently the crafting bug hit and I made the Littlest Peanut his first handmade item – a swaddle blanket.

This isn’t just any swaddle blanket though! It’s got special magic powers that cox him to sleep almost instantly and I have Prudent Baby to thank for it. I swear almost 5 seconds after I snapped the photo he was sound asleep. It’s magic I tell you!

The tutorial is great (like all of them are!) and I followed it to a T. I did use ribbon instead of bias tape because that’s all I had on hand. The need to craft struck and I didn’t want to run out to the store before it was gone! I used a flannel print that I had bought for my first with plans to make a blanket that never happened.

I’m already planning on making another one but with just the flaps since it’s pretty warm out and all he needs is his arms tucked in.
